Santa Claus Parade
Costumes and floats depicting the parade theme “A Story Book Christmas” will compete for awards presented for the Best Novelty Unit, Best Overall Unit, Best New Entry, Best Commercial Float Entry, Best Non-Profit Float Entry, and Best Religious Float Entry. Bands from all surrounding areas will compete for the Best Unit in each class and Grand Champion Traveling Trophy. The parade will be telecast live on WMBD-TV and has been sponsored by South Side Bank for the past 52 years. Joining us again this year will be the Third Annual “Trot for Tots” run. The two-mile fun run will follow the parade route through downtown Peoria and will take place just prior to the parade at 10 AM. Applications are available at www.trot4tots.org

2009 Parade Map
The longest running holiday parade in the country...the 122nd Annual Parade will step off at 10:15 a.m. on November 27, 2009 in downtown Peoria, featuring costumed characters, novelty walking units, horse units, decorated floats, marching bands, and of course Santa Claus.
